CSR Registration — AVS & ASSOCIATES

Want to Receive CSR Funding from Companies?

Your NGO must file Form CSR-1 with MCA and get listed on the CSR Exchange Portal to be visible and eligible for corporate partnerships.

Corporate donors can’t fund you without CSR registration.

We’ll help you file CSR-1 and list your NGO on the Exchange Portal.

What is CSR Registration?

To receive CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds from Indian companies, an NGO must complete mandatory registrations with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and, optionally, on the CSR Exchange Portal.

There are two main registrations NGOs must be aware of:

Why It’s Mandatory (Legal Requirement)

As per Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and CSR Rules:

  • From 1 April 2021, only NGOs registered with MCA via Form CSR-1 are eligible to receive CSR funds.
  • This form verifies the legal status and objectives of your organization before companies can partner with you for CSR spending.

Without CSR-1 approval, companies cannot legally contribute CSR funds to your organization — even if they want to.

Who Can Apply?

To file CSR-1 and get CSR funding, your NGO must:

Be

  • A Registered Trust, Registered Society, or Section 8 Company
  • Have 12A & 80G registration under the Income Tax Act
  • Be engaged in charitable or social development work

And

  • Maintain proper financial records
  • Not be blacklisted or banned under FCRA/IT Act

CSR Exchange Portal is optional but recommended. It allows your NGO to post projects and be discovered by CSR-eligible companies.
